Ashley Gill comes to Meta Hoops with eleven years of college coaching experience.  She started her coaching career in the Pac 12 at Washington State University and was there for nine years.  Beginning as a video coordinator while being graduate student in Sports Administration.  The final seven years of her time at Washington State was as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.  


Serving as the recruiting coordinator and camp director for the Cougars, Ashley’s primary recruiting areas were internationally, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.  Having coached and recruited over a dozen international players from 8 different countries.  Most notably, Borislava Hristova (Bulgaria), who was the #1 ranked international recruit by NetScouts and Louis Brown (Australia) the #3 international recruit by NetScouts.  Another  notable recruit, Lia Galdeira from Kamuela, Hawaii was drafted 19th overall in the 2016 WNBA draft by the Washington Mystics. 


While Ashley was on staff at Washington State, the Cougars made three WNIT appearances, advancing to the semifinals at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season. WSU made it to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament once, while playing in the quarterfinals three times during Ashley’s time with the team.  Also coaching and recruiting many All Pac-12 players.  


Most recently, Ashley spent her last two seasons in the Mountain West coaching at Utah State University.  She helped guard Eliza West to earn the No. 1 spot in career assists in the USU career record books with 457 helpers, while also helping guard/forward Shannon Dufficy & Forward Hailey Bassett be named all-Mountain West.


Ashley earned a pair of degrees from Washington State, graduating in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus in sport management and a master’s degree in sport management. A native of Brier, Wash., Ashley attended Mountlake Terrace High School, where she lettered in basketball, volleyball and track. She and her husband, Trevor, have a daughter, Kendall (4), and two sons Knox (2), and Trey (9 months).
